Poems while riding home after a week's mission trip to South Louisiana

bare crepe myrtle "tree" that was weighted down by years of honeysuckle vines

ON THE WAY  HOME
Foggy
winter morning.
Cell tower disappears
about half-way up. Live oak trees
blurry.
~~

fog
in south Louisiana
no cat feet visible
~~

TIRED & SLEEPY
Early
morning return
drive from a week's mission
trip to south Louisiana--
quiet.
~~

OHHHH!
Bunion
hurting: too tight
walking shoes not often
worn, ankles swelling from too much
sitting.
~~

Louisiana swamps
with gooshy gumbo mud
good homes for crawdads
~~

A WEEK WITHOUT A NAP!
I slept
most of the way
home, having missed my naps
because of the afternoon work
schedule.
~~

QUESTIONS
Are bare
trees considered
ugly? fascinating?
Invite metaphors? similes?
You choose.
