Speaking of calamities, it's a calamity when I can't access my blogs!
So, I go back to my old, beloved Vista laptop for a solution.
Fun Times in the Cold
C alamities arrive in winter time
O pressing people unprepared for such.
L ow-level levees break, send river’s ice
D ebris throughout the town. And then it snows
W ith whispers: It’s that time you’ve waited for!
E liminate your whines and wails. Be bold!
A bandon inside warmth and bundle up!
T ake walks, build snowmen, tote some wood to porch.
H aul kiddies in the sledge that’s hung for such
E mergencies. Emergencies? Of course!
R emember all your fun times in the cold?

A Short Winter Poem
Four bluebirds,
a sparrow,
balancing
in winter’s wind
on the thin
beautyberry
twigs, eating
frozen fruits.
~~~
And then I saw it was January
I looked around
some days beyond
December, found the year
had fled. Instead
the Janus month,
cold January’s here!
Oh, snow and ice
and bitter cold.
The north wind howls apace.
The schools are closed,
some churches, too,
but, oh! Bright winter’s face!
The old cat sleeps
beside the fire,
his paw above an eye.
Before too long,
‘Mom Nature will
blow January by.
Love your winter poems. Sorry your computer is bewitched!
