Cinquains from the Ozarks

October 29th
Views from
two windows show
different hues of dogwood
even though they are planted side
by side.
~~~~~
A friend
wondered why—with
my large, attick-ed home place—
I chose to go to the mountains
to write.
And yet
she, too, escapes
 to a second dwelling
away from cats and colts and her
neighbors.
~~~~
No squirrels,
 no crows—only
 the intrusive droning
of the nearby park cleaner’s leaf
blower.
~~~~
October 31st:
After
yesterday’s rain
the flamboyant dogwood-
reds, the fiery hickories lost their
colors.
    1. Yes, Freeda, that's what you said to me and that's what I thought. It isn't the best place to write because I have 3 cats that want inside, outside, back inside, etc. I have leaf-tracked-in dirty floors. I have the daily papers to read/work puzzles, etc. But if I have to write here, I can.
    1. Thank you. Yes, I check the blogger dashboard daily for spam, but I may have checked something on settings that catch spam because I haven't had any lately.
